You Need To Plant These Vegetable Seeds For Your Summer Garden
As the weather is getting warmer, now is the perfect time to start thinking about your summer garden. Here are four vegetable seeds you can plant now to be ready for the summer harvest. Little gem lettuce is a kind of lettuce that is heat tolerant and can pop up in as little as 45 days. This kind of lettuce has shallow roots so be sure to do plenty of watering if there is no rain. Peas take roughly 60 days to grow, depending on the type, with mangetout and sugar snap varieties being the easiest. For the best results, make sure to plant your peas in an open, sunny position with good drainage. Radishes are perfect for beginner gardeners as they grow quickly and are very low maintenance. Between planting the seeds and harvesting radishes will take around 45 days to grow. Green beans are another vegetable that is quick to grow, taking between 45 to 60 days depending on the variety. However, green beans prefer warm weather, so it is best to plant the seeds when the soil is warm.
